Have you ever felt like you’d give anything to just solve That One Issue? Only to realize two weeks later that it’s not even on your charter anymore, despite nothing having changed? We are often devastated by circumstantial events and it seems that nothing else matters. Silly, nothing matters at all!
Digging deeper, usually, I think, we feel anxious and stuck when a problem leads to shame, FOMO or loosing money. But, if you think about it, FOMO is totally fictitious — usually, if you can’t make it, then the chances are that you busy with something just as worthwhile; loosing some money is inconsequential (because one time events don’t matter all that much, what matters is habits, discipline and regularly occurring events); shame — we tend to over-fear it because we believe that everybody’s looking, but in reality everybody tends to look in the mirror rather then around.
So… when in trouble — take a nap, or clean the room, or talk to a stranger. Chances are you’ll forget that trouble in a fortnight.
